Hello all! My name is Janna Fuchs and I grew up in the small
town of Wall, Texas. My daddy is a farmer and my mother works at a ranch down
the road! Together they are a great support system to me and my siblings.
I am majoring in elementary education with the goal of
someday teaching kindergarten! I choose kindergarten because they are a great
bunch of kids who have the eagerness to learn all kinds of new things, yet
still want you to love them back!
You can find me on Skype using: Janna_Fuchs
I decided to come to Angelo State University because I like
the size of the school. My high school had 85 people in the graduating class
and I knew them all! I would have freaked out in a massive college where
classrooms are filled with hundreds of students! I also like ASU’s location! I’m
a bit of a homebody and San Angelo is close to my parents for an easy home-made
meal!
I want to become a
teacher because I love being around children and I want to help them want to learn. I want to be that teacher
who they can always count on. I want to learn the up-to-date ways of technology
so I can be prepared for my future as an educator. I would also like to have
the ability to teach my students how to use technology correctly so they are
able to use technology well.
Technology has definitely changed since I've been in
kindergarten! I remember the old box-like computers and the old-school games
you could play on them! Games have really changed a lot because they aren't as
pixelated or slow! Same goes with computers…
My computer is quick and lovely thanks to Wi-Fi, dial-up was awful and I can
still remember that sound… Overall, I am
glad that technology has become what it is because I honestly wouldn't want to
live without it!

Hey Janna!!! How are you? Hope your doing good. I had no idea that you were majoring in education, I guess I must have not asked last semester. I really like your blog, seems just like you. I liked when you mentioned the reason why you chose to come to ASU. I am the same way, I miss my family and I like being in a town that is not to far away. I also had to laugh when you mentioned the old box computers. It is funny how everything that had to deal with phones and computers is now touch screen or flat screened.
ReplyDeleteHi Janna! I think your blog is really cute and I love it. I think that it's cool you are from Wall because I know several people from there. I am also from a small school and totally understand your reasons for choosing ASU. Also I remember the dial up connections and am so thankful for high speed internet! I am excited to get to know you this semester!
ReplyDeleteI am also very interested in teaching the younger children. I think they are more eager to learn and more willing to try new things. Technology has defiantly changed over the years and I am glad you are willing to learn how to use the newer software and willing to teach your students how to use it too.
ReplyDeleteHey Janna! It's nice to meet you. I admire you for wanting to teach kindergarden! Children are adorable at that age, but definitely have MANY needs. I'm hoping to teach children 2nd grade and up but I'll just be happy to be in the classroom. I'm glad we are in the same group and I hope this semester goes great for you!
DeleteGlad to have you in my online ed tech course. I'm positive you will learn a lot about integrating technology in the classroom. It's great that you chose ASU. Many of the elementary education faculty are great! You will enjoy the courses and program. Have a great semester!
